Sea Protectors

From a ceramic piece found in Ajijic, MX, artist unknown, through a table found in the house where I was staying.

When they began to play, a deep feeling of reverance for our seas began to come forth.  We all need to be Sea Protectors.

Transformation

Into the Abyss
I take pictures of everything that catches my eye. One day, in Harmony, CA, I walked out behind the glass blowing studio and found a building that had been partially burned. I liked the image and always saw a woman in a long, flowing gown disappearing into the unknown. So I pushed the color a bit and called it "done" and titled it "Into the Abyss."

However, the creative process wasn't done with this image. It kept calling to me, so I played some more ... a lot more ... and it became: "Into the Mystery."

Into the Mystery

Done again ... or so I thought.

When I was invited to submit a poster for
Pacifica Graduate Institute's "Pondering Peace in a
World of Turmoil," this image knocked on the door
and wanted to play some more.

It attracted a lot of words and became:
"Pieces of Peace."

I have to wonder where it will go next.

It's About Time

Time is the great transformer, collecting birth and death, caterpillar and butterfly, ancient petroglyphs and modern art all into a cycle of coming and going. The key is recognizing that this current moment is all there is.

There's Always One

On a sparkling fall day in Nevada City, CA, I followed a colorful trail through the winding residential streets.

Maples, of course, shouted the loudest with their jaunty, look at me natures.

It shouldn't have been a surprise when I discovered that they were also the ones that wanted to play, to try on new outfits.

Into the Mystery

Into the Mystery by Joyce Wycoff
A few years ago I took a photo of a burnt piece of wood found out behind a building in Harmony, California. There was something about it that kept calling to me and it finally turned into this image which makes me think about going deeper and deeper into mystery.

Available in various sizes printed on dye-infused aluminum, ready for hanging.

Example: 12"x18" $165 plus shipping. Feel free to contact me with questions.

In the Garden of East & West

In the Garden of East and West by Joyce Wycoff
Inspiration is everywhere: on a road trip through Big Sur, I found a black and white graphic of striped-stockinged legs ... on the back of a commode!  The form and grace of that graphic pulled me into this collage which represents the tension of opposites ... east and west, line and color, familiar and unfamiliar.
